Comfortable Home Win for Harps

Harps 4-15

Skea 1-13

Two goals from consecutive attacks just before half time put the Harps in a position they were hardly going to lose, and 2-7 to 0-4 up at half time. Paul Ward and Peter Gallagher finished the moves, with Shane McGullion claiming the assist for both scores. Other first half scores for the Harps had come from three Garry McKenna frees, two Paul Ward frees, one for Stephen McGullion and one for Colm Jones. Niall McElroy, Kenny Kearns plus two for Daniel Kille made up Skea’s tally.

Garry had another free, Wardy scampered in for a goal from the right, set up by Lee Jones, Odhran McBrien and Stephen McGullion, Gary had a free, then Skea had a reasonable spell, and grabbed points from Sean Keenan and Cecil (2), before a point from Colm Jones, and Paul Ward’s third goal, as he got on the end of a Stephen Jones pass. The game was over.

Skea had a goal from Niall McElroy (“The defence will be disappointed with that one, Geoff”), but the Harps rattled off a trio of points for midfielder Garvan McGinley, one from Odhran McBrien, a fine score from play by Gary McKenna, before Cecil had a few scores and Adam McKenna had one as well.

Best for the Harps Lee Jones, Stephen McGullion, Wardy and a lot of others.
