Harps Notes 1st May 2017

posted 1 May 2017, 02:19 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £8200,was not won on Sunday night. The numbers were 6, 7, 8 & 25. £20 each went to Faber Leonard and Ethan Cassidy, both Derrygonnelly and Edwin Gallagher Mulleek. We are in the Cosy Bar next week, with Pat McGurn and Michael Glynn plus Mary Cox on duty.

Our seniors had a good win against Devenish on Sunday. With the wind advantage in the second half, they had a strong scoring performance to take the points in a good competitive match. Our two reserve teams lost out by narrow margins against Kinawley and Brookeborough in two very entertaining ties, not that the spectacle counts for much when you lose! At the moment, it looks like our seniors are away to Belcoo on Friday evening, and our reserves are at home to Roslea and away to Maguiresbridge on Saturday evening. Our Under 14s are scheduled to host Newtownbutler on Sunday evening at home.

Our annual Under 10 tournament commences this weekend, with eight teams in action across the two groups. We are scheduled to travel to Derrylin on Friday evening. Provisionally, we are leaving Derrygonelly at 5.45 pm. Please check our online output or contact Brendy for confirmation on this.

Our Under 8 group, made up of p3/4 players is travelling to Lissan this Saturday to play in the Club Eirne blitz and also meet the Fermanagh players afterwards. Players are to contact Niall Smyth or Dominic Corrigan to confirm attendance.

Finally, with less than two weeks to go, we are really looking forward to enjoying a great day at our Four County cycle on Saturday May 13th. A lot of locals have been putting in the miles around the roads, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the 50k, 100k or even 10k events. The 50k and 100k entry is available online via the club website, and on the day. Both of these spins have good foodstops along the way, and 100k entrants receive a free commemorative cycling jersey. See you all there!
