Harps Notes 20th March 2017

posted 20 Mar 2017, 07:49 by Derrygonnelly Harps
The Lotto jackpot, now £7500, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 9, 19, 20 and 24. £20 each went to Michael Duffy, Monea, Claire McDermott, Lisnaskea and Caresa Kelly, Springfield. We are in Old Pals this Sunday night and John Murphy and Gavin Duffy are on duty with Mary Cox.
Last Thursday saw the Harps celebrating again as Neil Gallagher and his wife Marian were married in Trillick and Donegal Town. Best wishes for health and happiness to Mr and Mrs Gallagher.
Our Under 14s had a good away win last weekend against Teemore, and they face Lisnaskea at home on Thursday March 30th at 7pm. Our next Minor match is on Monday evening March 27th against Enniskillen Gaels at home at 6.30pm.
Our Reserve teams didn’t quite get their seasons kicked off on Sunday last, with Teemore’s pitch unplayable for the Junior A team, and Derrylin unfortunately unable to field against the Junior B team. Our Junior A team hosts St Pats this Saturday evening at home at 6.00. Our Junior B team has a bye this weekend.
Thank you to everyone who was involved in our effort for the St Patrick’s Day parade last week, especially Dermot and Charlie Magee, Martin Brennan, plus Gerald Greene and his team. It was tough conditions, but the Harps held the line!
Our Under 10s thoroughly enjoyed their Go Games outing at half time during the Fermanagh match on Sunday against Newtownbutler. Our players were Aoibhe Love, Kyra Duffy, Maeve Duffy, Seann Greene, Shane Hoy, Niall McKenna, Tiernan O’Neill, Daire Keown, Patrick Durkin and Conall Rasdale. Thank you to Teresa, Fabian and Aodhgan for coordinating this event.
Our U14 girls have a challenge match this Thursday evening against Devenish in Derrygonnelly. All girls to be at the pitch for 6.15pm sharp. It's very important for everyone to be there for our first match of the year. And don't forget the gumshields!
Finally, the longer evenings are coming, and this increases the preparation possibilities for the Harps’ cycling event on May 13th. There are three routes within the overall event, the 10k, 50k or 100k loops, but now is the time to start getting miles in the legs. We will be having our official launch very soon, with full details on route, sponsors and entry. This is going to be a great event, and we hope to see plenty of cyclists from our own area and beyond taking the challenge.
