Harps Notes 26th February 2017

posted 27 Feb 2017, 06:21 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £7200, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers were 2, 8, 16 and 26. £20 each went to Louise Dundas, Derrygonnelly, Judy Murphy, Enniskillen and Ollie McShea, Enniskillen. We are in the Linnett Inn this Sunday night, with Peter Jones, Mary Cox and Gerry Gallagher on the controls.

Well done to our Under 14s, who had a good result on Saturday against Kinawley on the back of a very committed second half effort in particular. They play Belcoo tonight under the lights in Canon Maguire Park at 7.30pm. Our Minor game against Kinawley was not played because of an unplayable pitch. The boys are scheduled to play St Gerards at home this Sunday at midday.

Our Under 14 girls are starting out for the year this Thursday evening at 6.15pm. Any girl from Primary seven class to Year 10 who turn 14 in 2017 are welcome to come along, whether you have been playing regularly through Under 12 etc or not, it will be great to see you there. This training will end at 7.15.

The club's next big off field initiative is our Four County Cycle Tour on May 13th. This fundraiser will have three courses to suit all ability levels, from 10k to 100k in length. This will be a big goal for a lot of cyclists in our area and beyond, but we hope that plenty of locals in particular will come on board and give it a go. The 10k spin obviously an option for everyone, but the 50k is a very accessible and realistic target too, with a bit of preparation. The 100k is a great challenge for someone who has done a bit before, but again it offers a great way for someone who is looking to do a bit more or get moving for the year. We hope to see plenty of participants on their bikes around our four counties, this event gives us something positive to be working towards!
