Harps Notes 27th March 2017

posted 27 Mar 2017, 04:21 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Harps are delighted to officially launch their Four County Cycle today and announce that our main event sponsor is Modern Tyres. We are grateful for their support and the support of all of other sponsors, who will be announced in due course. We have three routes on May 13th: 10k local loop, 50k loop and 100k cycle taking in Fermanagh, Cavan, Leitrim and Donegal. Both of the longer spins will have food stops along the way, and there will be refreshments available at the end of the cycle too. This is a first for us, and we are hoping for a great support locally and from beyond our catchment area. This week's training tip: bring plenty of water and fuel to consume during your cycle!

The Harps Lotto jackpot, now £7600, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers were 4, 11, 22 & 30. £20 each went to Karen Hunt, Sarah Jane Jones, both Boho and Mai Patterson, Ballyconnell. We are in the Cosy this Sunday night, and Aidy Leonard and Brendy are on duty along with Mary. We are grateful for ongoing Lotto support from promoters and people who give it a go every week. It could be you!

Our Reserve A team had a good two point win against St Pats to start their Erne Cup campaign on Saturday evening. They are away to Tempo this Saturday evening, while the Reserve B team is at home to Ederney.

Our Under 14s had a good win against Lisnaskea at home last Saturday, and they are scheduled to play Newtownbutler away this Thursday evening. This will complete their first section of league matches. We are hoping to move to the end of our Feile host vetting process in the next week. We would ask that our host families return forms to Brendy, Gavin or Big Sean. Our Minors played the Gaels on Monday evening, and are scheduled to play St Joseph's away on Monday April 3rd. Our Under 14 girls had a very enjoyable challenge against Devenish last week, excellently refereed by Paul Murphy, particularly in terms of coaching both teams how to tackle. Training continues for them on Thursday evenings, while our Under 16 and senior training is also ongoing.

Please note that Sunday morning football will be commencing for 2017 on Sunday April 9th. Full details regarding registration etc will be in next week's notes.
