Harps Notes 7th January 2019

posted 9 Jan 2019, 05:26 by Derrygonnelly Harps

The Lotto jackpot, now £5200, was not won on Sunday night. The numbers were 1, 8, 23 and 30. £20 each went to Ann Gallagher, Boho, Martin Murphy, c/o Lenas, and Gerry Timoney, Cashel. We are in the Cosy next Sunday night, with John Ferguson, Eamonn Greene and Mary Cox on duty.

As we face into another hectic season for our club there is still one last reference point from the last one, with our Harps Celebration Dinner Dance on this Saturday night January 12th honouring our successes in the Ladies Intermediate Championship & League plus our Men’s Senior Championship. We are in the Killyhevlin Hotel from 7pm and music will be provided by Cufflinks, and tickets are available from Sean Flanagan, Ger Greene, Brendan Rasdale, Francis Rasdale, Patricia Brennan, Louise Dundas, Peter Jones, Donal Corrigan, John McGovern, Gavin Duffy and Nicola Cassidy. Please note that there will be a bus from Derrygonnelly, leaving at 6.30 sharp. Cost is £5 return, and anyone looking to book a seat should contact Diamond Cabs via a private message to their facebook page. This Wednesday evening is the final evening for ticket sales, so please get moving to the above named distributors as soon as possible.

Finally, it was with sadness that the Harps heard of the passing of Tommy Jones, Boho, last week. We extend our sympathies to his family, many of whom are steeped in our club. It was sad also to hear of the death of our neighbouring Devenish Club President Jimmy Mulrone at the weekend. Sincere condolences to the Mulrones, and St Mary's Devenish.
